My Verification Code Didn’t Arrive or Won’t Work

Learn what to do if your ONR password reset verification code doesn’t arrive, expires, or isn’t accepted.

Written by Carlos Rivas

If you’re resetting your ONR password and your verification code hasn’t arrived, has expired, or isn’t working, follow the steps below.

ONR sends a 5-digit verification code by email to the email address registered to your account. The code is valid for 5 minutes. The process is the same whether you’re using the ONR mobile app or signing in through a web browser.

Important: Verification codes are sent by email only — never by text message. Look for an email from [email protected]. If you request more than one code, only the most recently sent code will work.

How to request a verification code

  1. From the ONR sign-in screen, select Forgot username or password?

  2. Enter the email address registered to your ONR account.

  3. Select SUBMIT.

  4. Check your email for your 5-digit verification code.

  5. Enter the code into the five boxes and select SUBMIT.

If your code expires, select Resend Code to request another one.

I didn’t receive my verification code

If the email hasn’t arrived:

  1. Check your spam or junk folder. Search for an email from [email protected].

  2. Wait up to 5 minutes. Email delivery can occasionally be delayed.

  3. Confirm you’re using the correct email address. It must match the email registered to your ONR account.

  4. If you’re unsure which email is registered, check your original ONR Welcome Email or contact your management office.

  5. Request a new code. Return to Forgot username or password?, enter your email again, and select SUBMIT.

My verification code expired or doesn’t work

Verification codes expire after 5 minutes.

If your code isn’t accepted:

  1. Select Resend Code to request a new one.

  2. Open the most recent verification email you received.

  3. Enter the new 5-digit code into the five boxes.

  4. Make sure all five digits were entered correctly and that there are no extra spaces.

  5. Select SUBMIT promptly.

Important: Every time you request a new verification code, your previous code becomes invalid. Always use the code from the most recent email.

I don’t know which email is registered to my ONR account

Your verification code can only be sent to the email address registered to your ONR account.

Check the original ONR Welcome Email you received when your account was created. If you can’t find it or aren’t sure which email is registered, contact your management office to confirm the email associated with your unit.

I never received an ONR Welcome Email

If you never received a Welcome Email, your ONR account may not be activated yet, or the email address on file may be incorrect.

Contact your management office to confirm your account status and the email address registered to your unit. They can also resend the Welcome Email once your information is confirmed.

What happens after my code is accepted?

After you enter a valid 5-digit code and select SUBMIT, ONR will take you to the screen where you can create a new password.

Save your new password and then sign in using your email address and new password.

If you don’t reach the new-password screen, your verification code may have expired. Request a new code and try again.
